Beatfreeks announced as an official Do it For Real Partner bringing £10,000 to aspiring young social entrepreneurs in Birmingham.

UnLtd announces Beatfreeks as one of twenty two Partners for the Do it For Real Programme.

UnLtd the foundation for social entrepreneurs have revealed the first ever Partners of the national Do it For Real programme which aims to help young people start, grow and build their social action projects.

Do it For Real is the new youth programme brought to you by Spirit of 2012, Comic Relief and UnLtd. The organisations have come together through a shared purpose to help young people in the UK, aged 11-30, discover their full potential and contribute to their communities, their futures and their livelihoods through social entrepreneurship. Impact Hub Birmingham joins the partnership offering free space to young people on the programme on a Monday night.

The partnership is a good opportunity for Beatfreeks to further broaden their offering to young people and inspire them to take active steps into social entrepreneurship and peer to peer mentoring through their specialised programme of cash, mentoring and space aptly named: “Powered By”.

Beatfreeks and Impact Hub Birmingham will offer a package of support to young people aged 16 to 30 to start a social action project or venture, including funding, expert help, one to one guidance and networking.

Anisa Haghdadi, Founder and CEO says “There’s a thirst and drive for young people in our city to not only take their careers into their own hands by setting up businesses but to make a real difference to others. Beatfreeks was started with a small grant from UnLtd just two years ago – it’s an incredible feeling to see the support come full circle and for us to now be supporting other young people to start their own creative and social ventures”

As a successful Partner, Beatfreeks will receive a package of support from UnLtd. This package includes £10,000 cash to award young social entrepreneurs, as well as expert help to develop the capacity and skills needed to support social entrepreneurs.

The Do it For Real programme is an exciting initiative that will enable partners to contribute to transforming the lives and outlook for thousands of young people ready to make a positive difference in their communities.
