New Shoes

New skills. New challenges. New projects. New opportunities.

Beginning again on 19th September

Every Monday | mac birmingham | 6 til 8pm | Free

New Shoes is a collaborative programme between mac birmingham and Beatfreeks, encouraging the development of creative and community conscious young people in Birmingham. It is about taking creative ideas and using them to make a difference in your community.

It is for young people aged 16-24 from in and around Birmingham, who are interested in the arts and have, or want to develop ideas for projects, events or enterprises; which can have a positive benefit in their local area.

3. You are having a dinner party, you can invite any 3 people in the world (past, present or future), who would you invite and why?

Deadline is Friday 16th September 2016.

Odd Socks

New Shoes presented their workshop 'Odd Socks' at The Social Exchange 2016.

Odd socks is an engaging and safe workshop to explore mental health issues through arts.

Do you ever feel stuck? One in four people have mental health problems but many of us are misinformed on how to help ourselves or others. Oddsocks presents a workshop that aims to explore coping strategies for the things that life throws at us. Using guided techniques such as mindfulness, creative writing and personal anecdotes we aim to prove that talking about this issue doesn't have to be a taboo and can become a bandaid for our emotional wounds.

Oddsocks: For the mismatched among us.
