Workshop LUPdate: Prime Poetry

As I hope you guys are aware we held our first workshop on 8th September in the artistic bowels of the lovely P Cafe *cheers wildly*!

As expected we had a bout of the typical pre-event nerves, worrying that no one would come, that something would go wrong, that people might not like the exercises, but we were amazed by the support people have been showing towards Level UP. It’s at this point that we want to give a massive thankyou to everyone who came, you guys were awesome and there was some killer pieces so we hope to see you showcasing your talent in the not too distant future.

We set the theme of community which we felt reflected the venue nicely as Stirchley, the home of P Cafe, is really tight knit. It was incredibly inspiring to see the vast spectrum of interpretations that people had of the theme and the amount of passion that went into every piece.

For us, one of the highlights of the workshop had to be seeing how everyone tackled the task of performing the nonsense poem, The Loch Ness Monster’s Song. It’s fair to say we were all in stitches at some point during that exercise and there was some really brilliant performances!

Anyway, we better get back to frantically planning the next workshop, which will be on 28th September at Clifton Road Youth Centre from 19:00 till 21:00 (http://tinyurl.com/oy5g5qs) and we would love to see you there!

But before that we have Episode 1 of this season of Level UP on 24th at The REP at 19:00 so make sure you book your tickets now!

See you soon!
