Doink is building a research project about future skills, future jobs, and future economies and we want it to be driven by you.
It's an exciting time to be in Brum right now. Did you know that Birmingham is home to more start up companies than any other city in the UK outside of London?
Also, we've got HS2 coming to the city, and BBC3 recently moved here (hopefully soon to be followed by Channel 4). Birmingham is emerging as a 'Tech Hub' BUT, It feels like every day there is a new news story about automation and the job losses that come with that. Our high streets are also changing, and the jobs of the future are going to have to be different too.
We want to explore whether young people (particularly from minoritised groups) are being properly prepared for all of this change. Do you think you're getting the skills you need for the jobs you want and the jobs that will be around in ten years time?
We're working with Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership on a project funded by NESTA to influence a new skills agenda for the city.
If you'd like to hear more about the project and how you can get involved let us know below.
