On Friday 19th July, the Don’t Settle Curators will be bringing Festival of Audacity to Brasshouse Community Centre.
They will be hosting a playful installation called ‘Stories of Smethwick.’ This installation and activities inspired by it, will be used to make sure that decision-makers listen to Smethwick.
The aim is to guide members of the public to learn about the history of Chance Glassworks, and ask the local community what they want for the future as Chance rebuilds.
The installation will spark conversations and interactions with members of the public.
You will be part of a team where you’ll be:
Engaging with visitors through activities.
Helping the day run on time and looking out for catering.
Monitoring the space.
Part of the installation and de-installation (if you’d like).
We also offer travel expenses.
No experience hosting or liaising needed, this is a space to develop your skills. You must be 16+. Ideally from Birmingham or Black Country.
We encourage applications from those who live in the community and would like to come closer to their local history.
