Southside Producers presents: a compeition for neurodiverse artists to have their work featured during Festival Of Audacity.
At Festival of Audacity we stand to challenge the status quo and question exclusive practises in the creative industry. We would love to offer the opportunity for 3 young neurodiverse artists in The Midlands to create and platform original or existing work in exciting public spaces in Central Birmingham during Festival Of Audacity.
What is Neurodiversity?
‘Neurodiversity is an essential form of human diversity. The idea that there is one “normal” or “healthy” type of brain or mind or one “right” style of neurocognitive functioning, is no more valid than the idea that there is one “normal” or “right” gender, race or culture.’ https://autisticuk.org/neurodiversity/
Some recognised types of neurodiversity include: Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia and Tourettes.
Entrees can be visual, written or auditory work digital or physical (no larger than 1m by 1m).
Accepting work from artists 16-30 years of age
Closes Wednesday 19th September, 4pm
Winners will be announced between 20th - 24th September.
We look forward to receiving your applications and we hope to see you all at Festival of Audacity!
