Southside Producers is a year-long development programme based in Birmingham. Its aimed at those wanting to deepen they're knowledge as well as establish themselves as creative producers and be connected to our SSP Alumni and community. The programme will aim to give trainees a chance to develop their skills and learn from professionals taking them from the beginning of an idea right through to delivery in a series of talks, workshops and practical learning environments.
OverviewSouthside Producers will run every Tuesday 5.30 - 8.30pm at the Beatfreeks Collective Head office in Zellig, Gibb St, Digbeth, B9 4AT. Southside Producers’ runs in two terms. Each term consists of approximately 10 weeks (with a break halfway through).
Requirements:• Must be between 16 - 30 years old with any U18’s having parental consent• Interested in producing large & small scale events and festivals• Have some experience in producing and would like to develop your skills• If you have no direct producing experience but would like to know how and feel you have transferable skills• Must be based or have a strong connection to Birmingham (please be aware that sessions are hosted in Birmingham)
Desirables• We are interested in supporting producers who want to develop their practice in: performing arts, events, theatre and multidisciplinary work• We are interested in producers who are socially conscious in their output• We’ll be on the lookout for a willingness to take risks and be challenged
