Welcome to the community
Welcome to the Beatfreeks community page, we have created this space for you - to support your ideas, give you some toolkits and to power your next steps. Do you need a bit of juice to get your ideas off the ground or more support and guidance to craft your creative idea into something sustainable?
This is how our organisation started, let’s help you on your journey!
Since its inception in 2013, Beatfreeks has been supporting Birmingham's young makers and doers to develop their ideas into something amazing. Through a pick-n-mix selection of goodies such as open diary with the team or problem-solving lunches over chips (the fat kind), or using our office space to get your head down, we’re here to ‘power you up’.
Every Wednesday night we will open our offices til 9pm for you. Our space is yours - whether you want space to work, a desk to revise, a location for meetings or a place to meet new creative people.
On the last Friday of every month, we host an open office at Beatfreeks HQ from 10am ‘til 5pm. Book in, nab a desk or beanbag, meet the Beatfreeks team and settle in for the day.
Community Catch Ups
There are so many people in the community that should be connected - some of the best projects come from collaboration. This is a monthly space for you all to meet, network and relax.
Chips and Chat
Once a month over chips (on us), we meet with a person/group to give you specialist insight, ideas & support for your projects. From all areas & skills of our Collective, let us help you solve challenges.
We have £5,000 per year, separated into smaller pots to help you get your art-activism ideas off the ground. Great for those that need to move quickly in order to have an impact.
Like what we do? Want to know more? If you want to experience working for a creative company across various interests & roles, or want to shadow artist workshops - we’ll build you a tailored work experience.
Join the online community
We have tons more amazing opportunities for you to get involved in. When you join the digital community you will receive newsletters and tailored opportunities for your interests, straight to your inbox.
We have two dedicated members of staff to support you on your journey and we would love for you to get in touch with us if you have a question or you would like to come in at any point at all.
If you would like to add to our community page - you can get involved via our blogs, and react or respond to what’s going on in the world. Please contact Tom on firstname.lastname@example.org, to let us know that you would like to blog.
